Abstract A new customer road and proving ground (PG) road correlation model considering the fatigue damage of different load frequency bands was introduced in this paper. A test vehicle critical components’ load data of Chinese customer road and PG road was collected and analyzed. In order to establish the relationship between the customer road and the PG road, the load frequency was considered by dividing the load data frequency into several bands, the fatigue damage corresponding to each frequency band was calculated. The PG load damage feature matrix, treating as the input matrix, and the user load damage feature matrix, treating as the target matrix, were established respectively. The traditional equivalent load spectrum model and the proposed damage model considering the load frequency were compared. Based on the proposed model, an optimal PG test vehicle operation specification on the cycle number of different PG road sections was obtained. This paper provides a reference and technical basis for establishing a test field specification which conforms the user's road characteristics accurately.
