Inspection Threshold for Multi-state System

Abstract Determination of opportunities to inspect multistate systems under imperfect inspection is an important issue for maintenance managers. Raw data of imperfect inspection may lead to wrong information, it is either an important problem how to eliminate the imperfect inspections. This paper considers an inspection threshold for multi-state systems that eliminates unnecessary imperfect inspections. In particular, it is intended for a system in which the number of unit failures is defined as the system state.
