Abstract Event-related brain potentials (ERPs) could describe the human attention information. Here the relations between the displaying of car’s interior dashboard and driver’s cognitive mechanism have been studied using ERPs in order to improve driver’s human-reliability and the vehicle interior design model. The results demonstrated that there were statistically significant differences of the N1 and P2 in ERPs between the vehicle dashboard with 2 and 4 options model (p<0.05). ERPs could be the human-reliability index for checking the design effect of vehicle interior models.
