Abstract This paper presents methods which enable a reduction in test specimen size in reliability determination. The actual technical standing, as well as a potential new method, will be taken into account. This method is focused on the combination of prior information and lifetime calculation. A Monte- Carlo simulation will be used, in order to describe the statistical uncertainties in form of confidence intervals.
