Conversion between Repair Rate and Mission Reliability for Weibullian Product with Known Shape Parameter β > 1

Abstract This paper aims to provide some industry useful conversions between product mission repair rate and mission reliability for repairable products. Considering its flexibility and popularity, Weibull life distribution is assumed with known shape parameter based on historical understanding of product dominating failure mechanisms. Three practical scenarios are covered for repair rate (RR) specification in engineering applications: mission-end (instantaneous), steady-state, and mission average. Summary of calculation steps, sample calculations and comparisons are given for application illustration.
