Abstract Reliability has been used as an essential performance measure of several practical networks. This paper evaluates the reliability of a stochastic flight network to indicate the ability to satisfy the travel demands that depend on customers’ budgets. The SFNB’s reliability is defined as the probability to fulfill the set of travel demands regarding different travel budgets. This study employs the concept of lower boundary points and the recursive sum of disjoint products method to calculate reliability efficiently. Through a numerical example, the proposed assessment algorithm is indicated. Some management suggestions to improve the reliability are provided, which proves the implications of this research
