| Abstract | It is difficult to assess the open source software reliability,
because the development paradigm of open source software is different from the typical waterfall development style of general software. Therefore, the existing software reliability models cannot apply to the OSS development phase. Also, the open source software development has the cyclic nature such as the version upgrade, e.g., major, minor, and bug-fix. Then, it is important to consider the cyclic feature modeling the reliability of open source software. This paper proposes the reliability assessment model based on sawtooth wave and jump diffusion process in open source software. Moreover, several numerical examples based on the proposed model are shown in this paper.
