| Abstract | Planning maintenance policies, there are some
standards to schedule the maintenance time. we discss about maximizing the profit and other policies using profit. It is important to have high motivation to maintain a system. Recently, some cases have been reported in which maintenance is not performed because of insufficient budget. One thought to have a motivation to do maintenance is to use profit as the standard of the planning maintenance policy. A typical policy using profit would be maximizing profit. However, there would be several other policies using profit in addition to maximizing it. Especially, it may be unnecessary to maximize profit in public works. However, deficit should not be allowed even in public works. We have considered some maintenance policies with operation and suspension periods and discussed optimal policies to maximize profit. In this paper, we treat to extended model with operation and suspension period: constant suspension period model and standard renewal time model. we discuss maintenance policies with maximum, zero, and some certain profits for the model using numerical examples.
