Abstract The growing adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) emphasizes the need for optimal Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) placement. This paper develops a methodological framework based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to first identify and categorize important objectives in this field, and to then evaluate their mutual degrees of importance. To such an aim, we integrate economic, social, and technical considerations by categorizing critical objectives through literature review, and successively weighting these objectives within their respective categories using the Analytic Network Process (ANP). The developed model offers various stages of sensitivity analysis visualized through a dedicated dashboard, offering adaptation to different geographical needs. The findings highlight the importance of balanced decision-making to prioritize user convenience while ensuring infrastructure cost efficiency.
