Abstract This paper presents an original reliability-based and visual dashboard to plan and control erratic and lumpy spare parts inventory levels subject to unpredictable demand and variable supply lead times. A case study application demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed methodology in multi-stage and complex supply chains, which are continuously subjected to multiple stresses, e.g., geopolitical crises, social and economic disruptions, and raw material shortages.
