Abstract A discrete software reliability growth model does not take account of testing environment of factors for the probability of software failure in the testing phase. In this paper, we develop a software reliability growth model considering the testing environment of factors based on the concept of a regression-based modeling between the fault detection rate and the testing en- vironmental factors for the purpose of improving the reliability assessment accuracy based on software re- liability growth models. Finally, we show numerical examples in software reliability analysis based on the proposed model.
